Old family photos

My family has recently embarked on an ancestry mapping and photo restoration project.  As we look through the photos of loved ones who've long since past I am very grateful in my heart that even back when photography was much less accessible- people valued photography.  When I look at these images with a photographers eye- I see that these were made by real craftsmen.  Aren't they amazing???

Some of these images are getting to be 80 or more years old... and they are still precious to our memories..

My great grandparents on my father's side...

My great grandparents on my father's side...

A great uncle and someone very influential in my father's upbringing.  He could have been a movie star!  He passed when I was in 3rd grade but I still have fond memories of going down to his farm, riding tractors, getting chased by chickens, and catching catfish until the sun went down.

My great uncle... served and made the ultimate sacrifice in WWII.

Heading to WPPI

As part of my commitment to regular education, networking and personal development- I will be heading to WPPI in Las Vegas.  WPPI is the Wedding and Portrait Photographers conference and it has a reputation for attracting some of the best talent and ideas in the industry.  I am really looking forward to learning new things and connecting with great people.  I usually do at least a couple of conferences each year but this is the first time I will be going to WPPI.
